Browsing
Our catalog of plants is available for download here, or at the link to the left. We are happy to take digital photos of plants you are interested in and email them to you. Please feel free to contact us with any plant-specific questions. Some things we can tell you:
- Current plant dimensions and rate of growth
- How, when and where to plant
- Plant care and maintenance
- Plant hardiness
- Characteristics such as shade, privacy, fragrance and blooms
- Mature size
Ordering
- Call us for availability and let us know when you want to come by to pick up your plants.
- If visiting is not feasible, we will take your order via phone, fax or e-mail, select plants according to your specifications, and arrange delivery using independent trucking. We cannot ship very small quantities because the cost of freight typically exceeds the plant cost. Only plants shipped by USPS are liners. We do not offer mail orders, sorry.
- When you arrive, stop in at the office. If you do not see anyone, ring the outside bell or call 931.273.3454. We'll guide you through the nursery to make your selections and load the trees/shrubs into your truck. Please bring your own cover.
- We'll write up a sales receipt and receive payment (cash/check/Visa/Mastercard).
Inventory
You'll notice from our plant list that we are selective about what we grow. We do this to ensure that what we grow grows well. We appreciate your requests for specific plants and want the opportunity to grow for you. Feel free to ask about a plant that is not listed. We may have some growing to size, or we can tell you why we don't grow it (e.g. it is not zone-hardy, we grow an improved variety, it is disease-prone, etc.) and/or we can refer you to someone who grows it.

About The List
Nomenclature: The Green Village Plant list is organized alphabetically by botanical (Latin) name, and secondarily by common name. One plant can have multiple common names, thus using the singular botanical name ensures clarity.
Wholesale Pricing: The plant list shows prices based on wholesale quantities of 10 or more plants. Quotes are available on larger quantities. We do not need to charge Tennessee sales tax because our wholesale farm is exempt from retail sales tax.
Plant/Container Sizes: Green Village Plants uses industry standard container sizes. The plant list shows a container size for each plant. Example - #5 is equal to a trade 5 gallon. Knowing the container size does not indicate plant size. Each variety of plant varies with height and varies as to stage of growth. Contact us for specific plant dimensions. We grow all sizes of plants, but sometimes you might hear us say, "It's not ready yet." What we mean is that the plant doesn't have the height or fullness that our standards require.
